SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The holiday week ahead sees dry weather with cold mornings and mild afternoons through Thanksgiving Day, before a possible storm system comes into the picture on Friday. Getting to Tahoe for the turkey dinner will be a clear drive, but depending on the planned departure date, travel may have a slight chance to be more of a turkey.
The timing and placement of this system continue to change daily; therefore, details about amounts, magnitude, and timing will have to wait until we get closer to the system by mid-week, when higher resolution data starts to come in, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Nevertheless, given the current trend, we should prepare for at least some gusty winds, light valley rain, and some mountain snow.
