Looking for a way to help your community by volunteering a few hours a month? Bread & Broth, an all volunteer organization whose mission is to ease hunger in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community, has several volunteer opportunities.

Serving the community with hot meals since 1989, Bread & Broth has expanded to offering “Second Serving” on Fridays at Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church and Bread & Broth 4 Kids, 150 backpacks full of food each week for local school children in need.

Currently, Bread & Broth has volunteer openings in the kid’s program helping with packing weekend food for local school children on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Grace Hall and for drivers interested in picking up the food bags on Thursdays and delivering to schools on Fridays. Volunteers sign up for one week a month, or more if desired.

The Food Donation Pickup crew is in need of volunteers to pickup food from local donors on Monday and/or Friday mornings.

The ‘Second Serving’ team has openings for volunteers who are interested in helping with the soup and simple entrée dinners on Friday at the Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian church from 3:30-6:00.

‘Monday Meals’ at St. Theresa Grace Hall is looking for cooks and dinner setup/serving crew members.

In leadership positions, the ‘Monday Meal’ and ‘Second Serving’ Team Coordinators are looking for individuals to assist them with the meal setup and serving team coordination. Administrative openings include Communications Chairperson and ’B&B 4 Kids’ Grant Writer.
