
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Two South Lake Tahoe artists have joined together with an art auction with all proceeds going to support World Central Kitchen (WCK). “Last Night’s Dream” is a 14″ by 10″ turned-wood vase created by Malcolm Tibbetts and painted by Eva Salyer.
Bids will be received December 28 at 11:59 p.m., and the winning bidder with receive this unique piece of art. The winning bid amount will be matched, and all funds will support WCK, the first on the frontlines to provide meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. They build resilient food systems with locally-led solutions and were most recently at the scene of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Northern California. They’ve also sent food relief teams to Ukraine and those devastated by hurricanes.
“Last Night’s Dream” is made from stabilized/dyed maple, canary wood, yellow heart, wenge, and ebony turned by Malcolm with Eva using acrylics to paint “Peace Lilies” on its surface.
This project was inspired by the song, “Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream” by Simon and Garfunkle, and the incredible work done by the World Central Kitchen.
