San Francisco’s DJ Galen is headed up the mountain to perform at this year’s SnowGlobe. His DJ sets reflect a deep, funky, underground warehouse sound stemming from a synchronous relationship with a multitude of compositions. His mixing ability enables him to smoothly and effortlessly flow between styles within a single set, adept at adjusting his sound to meet nearly any situation.
The artist, who’s real name is Galen Abbott, graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Electronic Music.
Tapping into his musical talents, he founded Sunset Sound System with the idea of providing free, outdoor picnic-style parties where people could dance while watching the sun set behind the San Francisco skyline. Word spread quickly, and what began as a few friends with speakers and a generator turned into festivities of over 1,000 people within the first year.
This past year, Abbott took the Sunset parties around the world, boasting big-name talent for their international boat parties, festival-style campouts and famed park gatherings.
DJ Abbott will perform on the Igloo Stage on Sunday, December 29 from 7:30 to 9 pm.
