SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – It has been a cold weekend at Lake Tahoe, with lows in the teens and highs making it into the 30s. It was a dry weekend after a snowy Christmas, and the beginning of the next week will see more dry weather and cold temperatures. There is potential for another series of winter storms starting New Year’s Day through next weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
Temperatures will start to warm up slightly after Monday, with highs reaching the mid-to-high 50s and lows in the 20s. Light winds are forecast for this week until the storm door has a chance of reopening up again. NWS Reno said chances are increasing that the Sierra could see rain and snow, with a high snow level at the beginning of storm due to warmer temperatures.
We’ll have to wait until the system gets closer to see what will happen at lake level.
