An investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office into the death of a six-week-old infant has resulted in the arrest of a 29-year-old man.
Michael Swope is behind bars at the jail in Placerville and being held on one million dollars bail after his arrest on Thursday, December 29 at 3:20 p.m. on second-degree murder and assault charges.
The infant’s mother has been cooperating with authorities throughout the investigation and is not considered a suspect.
No other details have been released.
