SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The free Heavenly Holidays New Year’s Eve celebration in South Lake Tahoe is underway with a Ferris wheel and interactive character events.

The special characters have been at the Village all week, wrapping up on Tuesday with Snow White and Belle from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the ice rink area. There is a Ferris Wheel in the Village daily through New Year’s Eve, noon to close (cost is $5).

On New Year’s Eve, the main party gets started in the Village at 6 p.m. Grammy-nominated artist Eric Paslay will perform on the main stage with an all-star lineup including the popular Jared James Nichols, Mark Mackay, James Jared Nichols, and CJ Solar.

This event is sponsored by Visit Lake Tahoe, Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority, Heavenly Village, the City of South Lake Tahoe, and Heavenly Mountain Resort, and is free for the public to attend.

Fireworks are at 9 p.m. Tahoe time (to match midnight on the East Coast). The Heavenly Gondola will “drop” as the fireworks go off, weather permitting.

Rides on the Tahoe Transportation District buses are free, and Route 51 will get riders to Stateline and Heavenly Village safely and with no worries about parking. The last bus leaves Stateline at 12:10 a.m. (heads to Kingsbury and then the Y). For more information, visit https://www.tahoetransportation.org/.
