SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Join the ladies of Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS) for a first – the Mad Hatter Tea Party! This fun, inaugural event at the Valhalla Grand Hall in South Lake Tahoe is on Sunday, April 30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party is a chance for you to socialize, enjoy some scrumptious tastings, and go to your inner child. Tickets are $55 and only 100 will be sold and are available HERE. Children are welcome but all tickets are the same price.

There are no rules of dress here, and everyone present at the tea party is operating a bit beyond social constraints. Costumes and hats are not required, but what fun they could be!

SITS will serve tea, mimosas, small, tasty bites, and desserts. There will be a silent auction, a photo booth, and lots of fun decorations! Take a stroll through the rabbit hole, and take a look at the looking glass!

The club is also raffling off two trips, one week’s stay on Maui, and another week’s stay at an RCI timeshare anywhere in the world! Only 200 tickets will be sold for each trip and they are $50 each. If still available, tickets will be sold at the Mad Hatter Tea party, or instructions on how to purchase can be found here: https://e.givesmart.com/events/tPT/. Also coming up, the club’s fabulous silent auction starts April 30 and closes May 12. More information HERE.

Don’t be late, for this very important date! Sunday, April 30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Valhalla Grand Hall.

During the Mad Tea Party, The Mad Hatter asks Alice the riddle: “why is a raven like a writing desk?” She puzzles over this for some time, only to be told by the Hatter that the riddle has no answer, or did it?

Author Lewis Carroll later made up an answer – ‘Because Poe wrote on both.’
