EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – On Tuesday, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors has a presentation scheduled on the Vacation Home Rental (VHR) program for the incorporated portion of Lake Tahoe. It is currently set for 10 a.m. certain, but Supervisor Brooke Laine, who represents the Lake Tahoe portion of the county, is asking for a postponement.

Laine said an important topic like VHRs needs to be heard when residents are not facing the effects of recent storms.

From Laine:

Due to the very serious snow conditions in the Tahoe Basin right now and the fact that I want all residents and other stakeholders to participate in the Vacation Home Rental (VHR) discussion, I will be asking the Board of Supervisors to postpone tomorrow’s (3/7/23) VHR presentation until May 2nd.

My number one concern in the Tahoe Basin is that all our residents be safe and take care of one another.

Realizing that the focus for our residents right now is their safety and the safety of their homes, we do not want the VHR discussion to be a distraction to the important safety issues that are being dealt with right now. If you have sent in a public comment on this item, you do not need to resend it. All public comments will be carried forward to the May 2nd meeting.
