New Local Company: Lake Tahoe Cosmetics

Two local businesswomen, Marianna Lucido and Suzette Waite, have teamed together to start a new company called Lake Tahoe Cosmetics. Their vision is to offer women a complete, affordable cosmetics line that gives them a finished, glamorous look, and also fits the lifestyle of living in Lake Tahoe. These products are made with the highest quality ingredients that create a light and natural feeling and provide a flawless, long-lasting look that is compatible with our mountain climate.

For instance, the Brightening Day Protection, a broad spectrum SPF 50 lotion, is great for skiing, hiking, kayaking, and other activities. It is a non greasy, fast absorbing sun protector that shields against UV aggressors with a combination of sunscreens and a potent antioxidant to help prevent premature aging.

“Our cosmetics have ingredients such as Vitamins C and E, Green Tea, and Keratin. The foundations have a pro barrier complex to help protect and repair skin. These cosmetics are like skin care for your face,” Marianna says. “We have found that our Lake Tahoe clients need affordable cosmetics that work in the outdoor environment.”

Suzette understands the traveler’s needs too: “We want to accommodate our visiting clients with special products to use, not only during their visit to Lake Tahoe, but to take home with them. This is a reminder of how important it is to take care of our skin while enjoying the outdoors wherever we go.”

Marianna Lucido, a longtime Lake Tahoe resident, is a certified cosmetologist and makeup artist and an award winning hair designer. Her training and experience have been enhanced by her study of life-drawing and watercolor panting. Marianna has worked as an educator and a hair and make-up product distributor for the Sebastian/Wella Corporation, and has been published in numerous professional trade and beauty magazines, such as: Harper’s Bazaar, Mademoiselle, Los Angeles Times, Modern Salon, American Salon, Our Wedding, and Modern Bride.

Suzette Waite has worked as a cosmetologist in Lake Tahoe for over 30 years. She has pursued an active outdoor lifestyle and has first-hand experience dealing with the sun, wind, and weather extremes which make Lake Tahoe Cosmetics necessary. Suzette has spent over 10 years managing a salon and has extensive knowledge of cosmetic product lines. She is also an expert hair designer, and is a certified Great Lengths hair extension specialist.

Just in time for the Holidays, Lake Tahoe Cosmetics now offers a free make up application--a $50 value-- along with any purchase in the new line of cosmetics. Make up lessons are also available for $50 and include a $25 credit towards cosmetics purchase.
