Reno woman identified in Mount Rose Highway fatal crash
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 12/24/2012 - 10:39amA 50-year-old Reno woman has been identified as the victim of a fatal accident Friday on State Route 431, Mount Rose Highway, east of Joy Lake Road in Washoe County, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.
Tracy L. Scott died after the 2001 GMC Yukon XL she was driving was struck by a Dodge pickup towing a two-axle utility trailer driven by a 36-year-old Reno man. Scott was traveling westbound on the two-lane highway at the time of the crash.

Another storm expected for Lake Tahoe on Christmas Day
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 12/24/2012 - 7:59amSnow on Christmas afternoon is in the forecast prompting the National Weather Service in Reno to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Lake Tahoe and the Sierra.
An area of low pressure will drop into the Sierra and Western Nevada Tuesday bringing 10 to 15 inches above 7,000 feet with 5 to 10 inches in the Lake Tahoe Basin, according to the weather service. The highest amounts will be along and west of Highway 89.
South Lake Tahoe Snow Removal Route Map is online

Fortier's much-anticipated resignation was because her spouse has relocated to Redmond, Wash.
The 9 a.m. meeting will be at the City Council Chambers, 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe. Councilwoman JoAnn Conner will be out of the area and will participate via teleconference.
