Musical phenomenon 'RENT' to hit the LTCC Duke Theatre stage

Performances are June 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 at 8:00 p.m., with Sunday matinees on June 16 and 23 at 2:00 p.m. Set in New York City’s East Village, "RENT" follows the lives of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians as they struggle to survive and create in Manhattan’s Lower East Side during the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, and under the shadow of the AIDS epidemic.

The City of South Lake Tahoe’s Parks and Recreation Department invites residents to its inaugural Spring into Summer event on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m., to 2 p.m.
This event is FREE and allows families to tour the recreation swim complex, meet the recreation partners and sign up for programs such as the South Tahoe Adventure Recreation (STAR) Camps and meet camp leaders, swim lessons, and enjoy refreshments. Attendees of the event will receive a FREE one day use pass.

The Lake Tahoe Community College Writers’ Series is proudly hosting a celebration for the publication of the college’s literary journal, The Kokanee, Wednesday, May 15 at 8 p.m. at the LTCC library.
The event will feature short readings from student and faculty authors. Authors reading from their work will include Frank Riley, Cece Cummins, Harper Dial, Bonnie Turnbull, Marcela de Lira Astorga, Karen A. Terrey, Ryan Row, and Alec Holmes. The event is free and open to the public. The Kokanee will be available for purchase.

New classes will begin at the Center for Spiritual Development in South Lake Tahoe. Marty and Amrito Cross are back on an every week schedule (our own level class at FSD is now on Wednesdays, so no need to alternate).
Level 1, Level 2 classes and free healing circle start again on Tuesday, May 14. See details below. Level 4 is on-going on Thursdays. Please let us know what you plan to attend. Spirit Coaching is also available to fit your schedule (6-month minimum commitment).

The local forest service has been at the forefront of working collaboratively with user groups and the public to ensure that protecting the environment of this special place, still allows for uses that are compatible and fun.
