Prescribed fire set for Tuesday on south and east shores of Lake Tahoe

Expect smokey skies Tuesday ahead of a storm system as the U.S. Forest Service fuels management crews will hold prescribed fire operations in the High Meadow area near South Lake Tahoe and above State Route 28 near Skunk Harbor Tuesday, Dec. 11. Crews expect to burn two acres at each location, weather permitting. Operations will continue as weather and conditions allow.

Closing out a multi-year process to update the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board is scheduled to vote Wednesday, December 12 on the updated plan and supportive environmental documents at Harveys Resort convention center in Stateline.
