$5 Community Dump Day in South Lake Tahoe June 8

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The long-awaited annual cleanup day in South Lake Tahoe has been scheduled for Saturday, June 8. Clean Tahoe will be holding the day-long event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dispose of your unwanted items for just $5 per carload. Residential loads only. Nevada residents are charged $10 per load as are pick-up trucks and trailers. UHauls and oversized trucks are priced by size.

Grow Your Own Garden Festivals planned for Lake Tahoe and Truckee

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There may still be patches of snow on the ground around Lake Tahoe, and temperatures aren't quite warm enough to get plants started, but it isn't too early to start planning!

The UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe, Slow Food Lake Tahoe, and the UC Davis Environmental Research Center know how to grow food successfully in the Lake Tahoe area and they would like to share their knowledge with you.

South Tahoe High School Junior Optimist Club hosts fun field day for grades K-8

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe High School Junior Optimist Club is holding a fun field day for kids in grades K-8 on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the South Tahoe High School softball and baseball fields.

Kids get to try out new things offered at the high school and in the community. There will be various activities, including softball, wrestling, cheer/dance, football, volleyball, arts and crafts, and Career Technical Education (CTE) classes like sports medicine. Heavenly Ski Patrol and many other community participants will also be at the event.

Summer Craft Markets scheduled for South Lake Brewing Company

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Shop for handmade crafts, art, and goods from a variety of local vendors outside this summer in South Lake Tahoe at South Lake Brewing Company. Stop by their Beer Garden for Summer Craft Markets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on three Sundays during the summer: June 9, July 14, and August 11.

Tahoe Joy Music Festival

The Tahoe Joy Festival brings back the Dead Winter Carpenters to Tahoe City headlining the annual festival on Sunday, June 9 from 12pm to 6pm at the Commons Beach in Tahoe City.

The Dead Winter Carpenters, who formed their Americana roots/rock band in 2010 on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, are local fan favorites and the biggest local break-out band from the Tahoe area. They have played with the likes of Jason Isbell and the Infamous Stringdusters and are festival favorites at High Sierra, Hangtown, Strawberry and other large music festivals.

2024 Lake Tahoe Whiskey Expo at Stateline Brewery

Two South Shore blood drives hosted by local fire departments

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There will be two community blood drives in the area over the next few weeks, May 24 and June 10.

Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District is hosting a COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE on
Friday, May 24, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The blood drive will be held at Kahle Community Center, 236 Kingsbury Grade Rd., Stateline.

The local Tahoe hero, known for his world-class research and story-telling skills will regale you with his lively Science Stories and Research Adventures. The in-person event will be held at the Tahoe Science Center in Incline Village, Nev.

Community invited to celebration of Momentum PBS premier

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe Association of Realtors welcomes the community to a celebration of Momentum Film on PBS and Momentum Mentors on June 11 at 5:30 p.m. The movie made by and about South Lake Tahoe locals premiers on PBS, and join in the fun!

There will be food, drinks, and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to bring Momentum Mentors to more schools in our community and beyond!
