Join Hub 5 for a fun and free weekly (almost) program for young children with their parents or caregivers. They will meet in the Gazebo by the playground at Bijou Community Park from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

American Legion Post 795 hosts 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Stella Van Dyke Johnson American Legion Post 795 of South Lake Tahoe is inviting the Lake Tahoe community and visitors to join members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American Legion for a ceremony to remember the victims of September 11, 2001. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 11, 2024, at the American Legion Hall, 2748 Lake Tahoe Boulevard.

Live music will be provided by local favorite, Cash Only Band’s Davin Kangas with soloist, Jill Sharlow. Light refreshments by Tacos Por Favor Catering will be served.

The primary goal of our market is to promote a sense of community and a healthy way of life for Meyers residents and South Lake Tahoe locals alike. Of course, Tahoe visitors are welcome to join in on the fun! We are dedicated to bringing farmers right to your table, so we stay open rain or shine. We encourage our market patrons to bike, walk, or caravan to keep that Tahoe air feeling fresh!

Adulting 101: Responsibilities and Choices after High School

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Tahoe Learning Haven is hosting a forum about teens' choices and responsibilities as they move into adulthood. With many experts to hear from, learn about all your choices after high school - college, trade school, the armed forces, or the workforce. Hear from a local attorney about the responsibilities of adulthood in this free event.

The public is invited to Adulting 101: Responsibilities and Choices after High School on Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.

Talk Saves Lives: A brief introduction to suicide prevention

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is hosting a presentation on September 12, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Cowork Tahoe.

This presentation will cover what we know about this leading cause of death, the most up-to-date research on prevention, and what we can all do to fight suicide. Participants will learn the common risk factors for suicide, how to spot the warning signs in others, and how to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and those in our community safe.

Tahoe El Dorado Area Plan updates at upcoming workshop

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — El Dorado County will host a virtual workshop for the Tahoe El Dorado Area Plan (TED Area Plan) to share the review progress made to date, summarize community input from the previous online survey and community workshops held in June 2024, and provide a preview of next steps in the process. The workshop will be held September 12 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

It's OK to Feel the Blues fundraiser in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is holding a fundraiser at CoWork Tahoe on Thursday, September 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Join them for "It's OK to Feel the Blues' which will feature live music by Blue Funk, Blue Dog Pizza, Italian Sodas, and Blue Sweets. The suggested donation so $20 for adults and $5 for kids.

Next TERC event: Sustainable oysters (with tasting!) in changing marine ecosystems

Memorial Walk

Our 2nd Annual Walk during Suicide Awareness Month will be held Friday, Sept 13, at 7 p.m. at Heritage Park. This event is free and open to those who are grieving a lost loved one. There will be a path of illuminary to walk with (or without) our therapy horses.

We look forward to a powerful and supportive evening to hold space for hurting people. As this event is free, and donations are appreciated to help cover costs. Thank you for your support.

Lake Tahoe Comic Con returns at Tahoe Blue Event Center

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - After a successful inaugural year, the 2024 Lake Tahoe Comic Con returns to the Tahoe Blue Event Center on September 14 and 15, 2024. Special celebrity guests will be on hand on both days. There will also be an amateur cosplay contest with prizes (games, toys) taking place on BOTH days (adults on Saturday at 4 p.m. and kids on Sunday at 3 p.m.).
