Tahoe Arts Project offers free performance of Cascada De Flores

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Experience the Magic of Cascada De Flores: Música from the heart, at the Tahoe Arts Project's first free public performance of their 38th season. It takes place on Friday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College Duke Theater.

27th Annual Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day

September 28, 2024 - 9:00am

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to this fun, hands-on restoration event. By pitching in, you will help improve the ecosystem functions and wildlife habitats that surround Lake Tahoe. Healthy streams, meadows and wetlands act as natural pollution filters to Keep Tahoe Blue. Volunteers do not need previous experience to participate in the projects. Help us heal the land to Keep Tahoe Blue.

Public is invited to “heal the land” at Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day Saturday

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - This Saturday morning, volunteers will lace up their boots, pull on their gloves, and help preserve Lake Tahoe with a few hours of intensely gratifying, land-healing work. Participants can choose from a range of hands-on projects taking place at Rabe Meadow in Stateline, Nev.

Firefest

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join Lake Tahoe Basin agencies for the annual Firefest on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Tahoe Middle School.

There will be a burn house sprinkler demo, appearances by Smokey Bear, Sparky the Dog, vehicle extraction, ember house toss, bounce house, helicopter flyovers, and more.

South Tahoe Middle School is located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe.

Inaugural Tahoe Bear Fest at Spooner Lake State Park

South Christmas Valley Firewise Workday

Dear South Christmas Valley, There is a Firewise Community Workday scheduled for September 28, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 3313 W River Park, South Lake Tahoe.

This is the day organizers will record all the hours neighbors have worked in their yards preparing for the defense of a wildfire.

Living history program, The Reno Cure, at Minden Mill Sunday

On Sunday, September 29 David and Gayle Woodruff will present one of their popular living history programs at the Minden Mill Distillery. Join them at 1 p.m. for "The Reno Cure."

Reno has long been known as “The Biggest Little City,” but it wasn’t just the introduction of legalized gambling in 1931 that brought the town its fame. For the first half of the 20th century, hundreds of thousands of people came to the Truckee River town, to get a “quickie” dissolution to their marriage.

Coffee With A Cop on Oct. 2 at Cuppa Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol (CHP) of South Lake Tahoe is hosting another Coffee With A Cop on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Cuppa Tahoe from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The date coincides with National Coffee With A Cop Day, a day celebrated on the first Wednesday of October. The day's purpose is to encourage positive interactions and communication between law enforcement and the public.

Joining CHP at the coffee will be the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
