Next TERC Talk: Winter Weather with Chris Smallcomb

Join the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) as they welcome Chris Smallcomb from the Reno office of the NOAA National Weather Service on January 9, 2025. Chris will discuss how winter is going so far, and show the latest forecasts for the rest of winter and what that means for our region going into 2025.

Tahoe Chamber hosts Level Up Workshop for small businesses

Join the Tahoe Chamber at its first Level UP of 2025 on January 16 at 12 p.m. In partnership with the City of South Lake Tahoe, the Chamber welcomes Jessica Carr, director of the Sierra Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and Dan Keenan of Hatchback Creative, a South Lake Tahoe-based SBDC advisor.

What is an SBDC?
Small Business Development Centers provide counseling and training to small businesses including working with SBA to develop and provide informational tools to support business start-ups and existing business expansion.

Scoping meeting on proposed Barton Hospital facility at Lake Tahoe

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - The public is invited to comment on the scope of the environmental assessment (EA) for the new Barton Health hospital project at Stateline. The EA will evaluate any potential environmental impacts of the project and amendments required to the South Shore Area Plan (SSAP) for construction.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), Barton Hospital, and the Douglas County Community Development Planning Division (Douglas County) are seeking public comments and will hold a scoping meeting on January 16.

This Spring Break trip is being organized by Mrs. Heather Lamb, Whittell's Mathematics teacher, in conjunction with Global Travel Alliance. This journey will offer students the chance to explore U.S. history, cultural landmarks, and iconic sites while connecting classroom lessons to real-world experiences.

Volunteers and donations needed for Night to Shine, a prom for individuals with disabilities

Night to Shine will be held on February 7, 2025, at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. Organizers have already started planning and need the community's help.

Night to Shine is a promlike experience for individuals with disabilities who are 14 years old and above. The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsors it. Mountain House is the host church, and Access Tahoe is helping support this event.
