Nominations are in for the 2011 Blue Ribbon Awards

TahoeChamber.org would like to thank all those who took the time to nominate a business or individual for the 4th Annual Blue Ribbon Awards. Over the four years that the awards program has been in existence, community participation and support has increased annually by leaps and bounds. This year brought in a record amount of nominations, which resulted in over 100 businesses and individuals being nominated for the eight different award catagories.

Far West Nordic Auction/Raffle Party -

The 26th annual Far West Nordic Auction/Raffle Party will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley.

Moving Forward after The IHOP Tragedy

The windows on the front of the Carson City IHOP were broken when a gunman opened fire inside the restaurant last month. Saturday morning, workers could be seen inside and outside of the restaurant on South Carson Street - putting in new windows. An IHOP spokesperson told KOLO 8 News Now that the restaurant is scheduled to reopen before the holidays, however she would not give an exact date.
