Keep Tahoe Blue Earth Day Cleanup and Festival

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The League to Save Lake Tahoe is celebrating Earth Day with a movie, presentation, and festival on April 22, 2019 and the public is invited to join them at the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe.

Make a difference, learn more and win fun prizes!

The day starts with a clean up of the area from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Now that the snow has melted trash is showing and help is needed to keep things clean. Meet at the village at 9:00 a.m.

Then, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. visit environmental non-profit booths at Heavenly Village. Visit all booths and win prizes.

Their Earth Day movie and presentation will be held at The Loft at the Heavenly Village. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the program starts at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 pre-sale, $7 at the door. Free for youth under 18-years-old. Ticket proceeds benefit the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

The presentation is from Jesse Patterson, the League's chief strategy officer, on how climate change impacts Lake Tahoe and how you can get involved to help. The Sierra Nevada Alliance and Tahoe Climate Change Action Network will also briefly discuss ways to get involved locally.

The feature film, "An Inconvenient Sequel - Truth to Power" starring Al Gore, will showcase how close we are to a real energy revolution and the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
