Bike Rodeo in South Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
June 8, 2019 - 7:00pm

The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra in conjunction with the El Dorado County Sheriff's office, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, Lake Valley Fire Department, South Lake Tahoe Fire Department, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, California Highway Patrol, Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition and Blue Zone Sports will be hosting a bike rodeo at South Tahoe Middle School on Saturday June 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

This free event will allow all students from the 4th grade thru middle school to participate in a bike riding skills course. All students are encouraged to attend with their bikes and helmets. If a child does not have a helmet, one will be given to them free as long as supplies last.

Blue Zone Sports will be on site to conduct bike inspections if desired. It is important that the children riding bikes do so under safe conditions. Minor mechanical adjustments, if needed, will be made. If more serious conditions need attention, the parents of the children will be advised.

The Kiwanis Aktion club of Lake Tahoe will be hosting a fundraiser at the event by offering hot dogs and water for $1.00 or a hot dog and a soft drink for $1.50. Aktion Club is a service leadership club for adults living with disabilities.

The goal of the bike rodeo is to help make this a safe summer for all the children in the community.
