Event Date:
November 6, 2015 - 7:00pm The Tahoe Area Sierra Club will be bringing “Wrenched,” a documentary film about Edward Abbey, to South Lake Tahoe on November 6, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Unity at the Lake.
Edward Abbey authored twenty-one books in his lifetime, including Desert Solitaire, The Brave Cowboy, and The Fool's Progress. His comic novels, The Monkey Wrench Gang and Hayduke Lives helped inspire a whole generation of environmental activism.
Filmmaker ML Lincoln’s documentary “Wrenched” reveals how Edward Abbey’s anarchistic spirit and riotous novels influenced and helped guide the emerging environmental movement of the 1970s and 80s. Through interviews, archival footage, and re-enactments, ML Lincoln captures the outrage of Abbey’s friends, who were the original eco-warriors.
The public is invited and there is a $5.00 donation requested.
