Pajamas welcome at 2nd annual Lake Tahoe Ed Foundation's Breakfast for Dinner

A new holiday tradition is being offered by the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation at their 2nd annual Breakfast for Dinner at Ernie's Coffee Shop on Thursday, December 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are available from any foundation board member (Nicole Bergner, Virginia Berry, Jerry Bindel, Chris Campion, Melinda Choy, Bob Comlossy, Beth Delacour, Tyler Fair, Micelle Feeney, Karen Goldberg, Brian Hogan, Ivone Larson, Matt Lucksinger, Joe Marzocco, Greg Ochoa, Cinnamon Pakes, Jeanette Riva, Kelly Shanahan, Harold Singer, Kathy Strain, and Belen Urratia).

Basecamp Pizza raises $17,250 for Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A year-long fundraising effort by the staff and management at Basecamp Pizza has netted $17,250 for the Lake Tahoe Education Foundation (LTEF).

On Monday, August 12, the popular restaurants in the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe presented members of LTEF with a check.

'Breakfast for Dinner' fundraiser for Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation

The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation is holding their first "Breakfast For Dinner" on Tuesday, December 4 at Ernie's in South Lake Tahoe from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come in your pajamas and enjoy while raising money for local schools and students.

"Dinner" includes Ernie's famous French toast with bacon or sausage and a beverage. A full order is $10 and a half order is just $5. There will also be hot chocolate and a mimosa bar available for an additional donation, so be sure to bring cash.

Beth Delacour on retiring: I'll miss the kids, they make me laugh

A self-described "forever learner," Beth Delacour won't be saying goodbye to schools once she retires as the South Tahoe Middle School Principal next month. "I like to learn," she said.

After 32 years working in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District, Delacour is looking forward to having breakfast with her girlfriends, cooking dinner for her husband ("He's been so supportive"), and enjoying her grandchildren (the fourth one is just one week old). But don't look for her to be just relaxing for long.

Twenty-five teachers and staff retiring from LTUSD

After working a total of 637 1/2 years for the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), 25 teachers, staff members and administrators were recognized in a ceremony Tuesday evening.

LTUSD and the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation hosted the reception.

New Principal named at South Tahoe Middle School

When current South Tahoe Middle School Principal Beth Delacour retires in June she is leaving the school in the capable hands of John Simons. Simons (pronounced sim-mons) was introduced at Tuesday evening's Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board meeting.

Simons is relocating to South Lake Tahoe from Oakdale, CA where he has been principal at the community's middle school for the past seven years. Prior to that he served as the school's vice-principal for three years.

South Tahoe Middle School Students Treated to Shopping Spree

It took several cashiers and 3 check out lines to process the carts full of clothing, coats and shoes that 120 South Tahoe Middle School students spent the day shopping for at Kmart. On Saturday, October 5. The Assistance League® of Sierra Foothills (ALSF) partnered with the South Lake Tahoe Kmart to bring the Operation School Bell® program to the students.
