February 15, 2020 - 7:00pm Fortunate Strangers, a West Coast band featuring Scottish and Irish songs, will be performing at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City on February 15 at 7:00 p.m.
The band combines the experience of three performers from the San Francisco Bay Area and the High Sierra. Celia Ramsay,’s haunting voice and extensive experience in Scottish folk music, combined with Joe and Kathy Bly's long history in Irish music, blend to create a Celtic musical experience that is both expansive and focused. True to the Celtic tradition, their songs range from lush and full to haunting and angular.

Paul was born in Oakland, CA on November 24, 1933 to Arnaldo and Ruth (Dobbins) D'Anneo. He married Barbara Moore in Berkeley, CA. Having attended Cal Poly, he worked as an electronics engineer.
Boys Scouts host 4th annual Car and Truck Show in Carson City

Participants can either pre-register or sign up the day of the event. Cost is $40. Each participant will get a T-shirt, one lunch meal ticket, and a dash plaque.

The Family Stone and Lydia Pense and Cold Blood play at the 9th annual Concert Under the Stars in Carson City on July 12 at 6:30 p.m. to raise funds for The Greenhouse Project its mission of Growing a Healthier and Greener Carson City.
Formerly in the street outside Cafe at Adele's, they have moved to a larger location outside of the Brewery Arts Center.
Reserved seating starts at $45, bleacher and standing room only tickets are $25.

A parade, competitions of strength and facial hair, hot air balloons, bloody marys, a carnival, pow wow, and free chili are just a few of the festivities awaiting the capital city on Saturday.
The party begins Friday this year with a ribbon cutting celebration of the 'new' downtown. The Nevada State Museum hits its 75th Anniversary this year and will have a day full of fun and surprises. King Street. This Speakeasy Dance Party celebrates music, dance, and art. Tickets are $10 and admission includes light refreshments, a no-host bar, the killer seven-piece band Brass Knuckles, original artwork, and prizes. All are welcome; those age 21 and over need to bring an ID. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the dance band plays from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Hijinks on the Comstock with a twist comes to Carson City this summer with "Where is the Gold?" a Wild West melodrama and murder mystery dinner set aboard a vintage Virginia and Truckee Railroad steam engine train, July 18 and August 15.
"Where is the Gold?" produced by the Brewery Arts Center will entertain with plenty of Comstock legend and lore intertwined with spellbinding whodunit mystery. The audience will be invited to help the cast of characters solve the mystery of who stole the gold, and who is responsible for the death of Mr. Big.

Rollins' stop in Carson City is part of a two-month tour along the campaign trail this fall where he is hitting all 50 state capitals and wrapping up on the eve of the Presidential election in the nation's capital.
