Join the Lake Tahoe Historical Society for the final Fall Fireside Chat at Historic Camp Richardson as we welcome David Long. Mr. Long has lived in the Tahoe basin for 16 years. He has been a fly fisherman for nearly 40 years. He is a member of a couple of fly fishing clubs and organizations – and has participated in a number of mentor programs for the beginning fly fishing angler. Starting with the Egyptians and going through the millennia, this power point program reveals fascinating facts about corsetry, drawers (panties and undershorts), petticoats, bustles, farthingales, and other undergarments people have worn throughout western civilization. We all wear undies…..come find out the WEAR and WHY of underwear.

This exciting program will cover everything from Native American trade routes over the Sierra Nevada, to the 1859 Bonanza Road, tolls, railways and so much more. Our Lake Tahoe history is incredibly intriguing.

New roads, campsites and building relocation at Camp Richardson

Work on the second phase of the new campground and vehicle circulation plan at Camp Richardson Resort will continue beginning Monday, May 2, 2016 and last for approximately three months. Officially named the Camp Richardson Resort Campground and Vehicle Circulation Best Management Practices (BMPs) Retrofit, the result will allow the resort to meet current standards for water quality protection and increase universal accessibility to the area's activities.
