Lisa Maloff University Center at LTCC opens in August

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Local philanthropist Lisa Maloff, the "Angel of Tahoe," donated $5.8 million to Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) back in November of 2014 for the creation of a University Center that would make four-year degrees a reality on the South Shore. The first shovels hit the dirt one year ago, in June 2017.

First let me say how grateful our city is to you for the generosity you have displayed. As a private citizen of more modest means, it is over whelming to think of how much can be realized when a person is so giving.
South Lake Tahoe twins headed to Boys and Girls State

It has always been an amazing accomplishment for a student from South Tahoe High to be selected to go to either Boy's State or Girl's State, programs sponsored by the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary.
For the first time organizers can remember, twins have been selected to represent the community in the unique and exciting government-in-action learning programs which teach youth how to be knowledgeable stewards of freedom, democracy and patriotism.
Choices for Children seeking child care providers in South Lake Tahoe

There is currently a shortage of child care slots in El Dorado County. Many child care facilities who offer care are full and have waiting lists. This situation is very frustrating for parents and their employers. In order to work, parents are forced to juggle child care between friends, neighbors, and family members which can often be inconsistent and unreliable. Parents may also be forced to consider a child care situation of questionable quality.
Lake Tahoe Community College not chosen as part of four-year degree pilot program

Lake Tahoe Community College was one of 36 community colleges in California to apply for a chance to offer baccalaureate degrees, just as 20 other states currently offer. The 15 colleges that will be part of the inaugural program were announced Tuesday, and LTCC was not among them.
Lake Tahoe Community College Offers a Learn Spanish Abroad Program

Lake Tahoe Community College is offering interested students an opportunity to learn Spanish in Guatemala this coming summer. The program is open to anyone who is at least 18 years of age, and participants do not have to be current LTCC students. All levels of Spanish language learners are welcome to experience the program.
