Tahoe Chamber hosts virtual Town Hall with focus on business reopening guidance

The Tahoe Chamber is inviting the business community to join them on Friday, May 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for another one of their popular Virtual Town Halls. This week, the Sierra Business Council and the Douglas County Vitality manager will discuss and provide guidance on the reopening of business in both California and Nevada and answer the community's questions.
Speakers will include:
- Steve Frisch, President, Sierra Business Council
- Lisa Granahan, Economic Vitality Manager, Douglas County, NV Economic Development / Vitality Department

Douglas County prepares for onslaught of wet weather
Submitted by paula on Fri, 01/06/2017 - 3:03pmWith flood warnings up around Northern California and Western Nevada, Douglas County officials are alerting residents of a flood watch issued for the area from late Saturday night January 7 through Monday morning, January 9.
Douglas County Emergency Management is preparing for changing flood conditions and the safety of Douglas County residents.
Tahoe Youth & Family Services teams up with Suicide Prevention Network for local services
Submitted by paula on Tue, 09/06/2016 - 1:42pmStarting in Fall 2016, Tahoe Youth & Family Services will begin contracting with Suicide Prevention Network of Douglas County to bring suicide prevention education and resources to residents of South Lake Tahoe.
The combined effort will provide community-wide awareness programs and mental health stigma reduction outreach. Suicide survivor grief support groups will also begin at the Tahoe Youth & Family Services’ counseling office at 1021 Fremont Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. Funding for the new program comes from an El Dorado County Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) grant.
Briefcase left at Carson Valley Starbucks brings out bomb squad
Submitted by paula on Mon, 07/06/2015 - 1:56pmThe Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to a call of a suspicious package left against the wall near the entrance of Starbucks, located at 1734, U.S. Highway 395 in Minden, NV.
Due to the heightened terrorist alert across the country over the holiday weekend, DCSO took precautions and had called in their Bomb Squad to evaluate the briefcase. It was determined that it was a laptop computer inside and not an explosive device.

Douglas County prepares for next wave of storms; sandbags available at Zephyr Cove firehouse

The Management team met this morning and discussed the event thus far. The major event has been a downed tree on Centerville Road, but has since been removed.
