SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Philanthropy and South Lake Tahoe non-profits were recently celebrated by the Barton Foundation as they honored their 2017 grant recipients in a luncheon at Riva Grill.

Dr. Mireya Ortega of High Sierra Dental Care was recently the honored recipient of the 2016 Ruby Award given by Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS). This award honors women who are making an extraordinary difference in the lives of other women.
Dawgs on the Run hosting dog walk and costume contest

Dawgs on the Run, a South Lake Tahoe non-profit, is continuing their series of fun, family and dog friendly walks with a costumed walk on Wednesday, October 14.
Wag, Waddle and Walk is the name of their monthly get-togethers which have been held all through town over the summer. Everyone is welcome to join them in the informal setting which always includes a test of a dog's skills (optional, so don't worry if your dog doesn't know any).
