Men wanted in connection to El Dorado County homicide captured in Carson City
Submitted by paula on Wed, 03/14/2018 - 8:07am3/15/18 UPDATE: Two men arrested early Wednesday at a Carson City home have been identified and now face murder charges in El Dorado County, Calif.
Chase Bomar, 19, and Cody Bomar, 21, were taken into custody after Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT responded to assist El Dorado County authorities at a home in the 1200 block of Palo Verde Drive.
The men were wanted in connection to the fatal stabbing of Jeremy Fortuin, 42, of Pollock Pines. The stabbing happened on Pony Express Trail in Cedar Grove on the west slope of El Dorado County.
Tahoe Wellness Cooperative and owner's home raided Monday
Submitted by paula on Mon, 06/01/2015 - 7:33pmA large team made up of members from multiple agencies served a search warrant on both the Tahoe Wellness Cooperative and owner Cody Bass's South Lake Tahoe home early Monday morning.
Agents from the Franchise Tax Board (FTB), Board of Equalization, Department of Insurance, South Lake Tahoe Police Department, and El Dorado County Sheriff's Department (EDCSO) were on scene at the co-op according to Tami Grimes, Information Officer with the FTB in Sacramento.
"The contents of the search warrant are sealed," said Grimes.
Counterfeit bills on rise in El Dorado County; One arrest made
Submitted by paula on Mon, 05/18/2015 - 7:19pmSeveral counterfeit bills have been used for transactions on the west slope of El Dorado County, even days after the arrest of one suspect. On May 8, the Sheriff Deputies were called to the Round Table Restaurant in Pollock Pines after a man tried to buy food with a counterfeit $100 bill. He and a woman left before deputies arrived but a description of the pair and their vehicle was provided to EDCSO.

Accused arsonist Wayne Huntsman in South Lake Tahoe jail
Submitted by paula on Tue, 09/23/2014 - 8:22pmWayne Allen Huntsman, the accused King Fire arsonist, is sitting in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe awaiting his next court date on October 28, 2014.
Huntsman was arrested on September 17 on felony charges of Arson on Forest land with a Special Allegation of Arson with Aggravating Factors. He was arraigned in Superior Court in Placerville on Friday and transferred to the county jail in South Lake Tahoe. His bail was set at $10,000,000.
Two More Bodies Retrieved After Folsom Lake Boat Accident

After a body was found in Folsom Lake Friday morning, two more were located in the lake on Saturday.
Kayaker Transported to Barton Hospital After Overturning in Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/10/2013 - 12:52pmThe El Dorado County Sheriff's Office patrol boat and search and rescue volunteers responded to the call of kayakers in distress on Lake Tahoe's wind whipped waters on October 3. In a report released today, Sgt. Steve Fleischmann of EDCSO reported that they received a call saying that multiple kayakers were in the water and needed help near Camp Richardson. When the rescue team arrived they found two kayakers in the water, two overturned kayaks and an additional kayaker still in his boat attempting to assist the others.
