Popular South Lake Tahoe waterfront restaurant closed after water shut off
Submitted by paula on Wed, 07/12/2017 - 5:28pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - An ongoing legal battle between the Tahoe Keys Marina and the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association (TKPOA) has resulted in the water being shut off to all buildings at the marina.
Since the Fresh Ketch restaurant and adjacent deli are in one of those buildings, the El Dorado County Health Department shut them down due to a lack of water. A notice was also put up on the apartments in the complex advising residents of unsafe living conditions since there was no running water.
Facebook Helps Locate Missing El Dorado County Man
Submitted by paula on Mon, 01/06/2014 - 5:10pmA 19 year old man spent 2 nights outdoors after becoming separated from a group of friends who went out for a Saturday evening hike near the Cool, CA community of Auburn Lake Trails. A call came into the El Dorado Country Sheriff's Department on Sunday from a woman who said she saw Facebook posts about the missing young man.
The man's mother was contacted and she told investigators that her son was staying with friends and she didn't know about his disappearance but that she hadn't heard from him and was concerned for his safety.
Explosive Device Causes Evacuation of El Dorado County Probation Department in Shingle Springs
Submitted by paula on Mon, 01/06/2014 - 4:45pmA capped off pipe with a fuse coming out of it was found in front of the El Dorado County Probation Department in Shingle Springs on Monday morning, prompting the evacuation of 25 employees inside the building.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Demolition (EOD) personnel responded. EOD personnel investigated the object and rendered it safe with no injuries or property damage. EOD personnel believed the object was in fact an explosive device that had malfunctioned.
Law enforcement is continuing an investigation of the incident.
