Santee, California becomes 9th city to declare Oct 25 as “Rajan Zed Day”

City of Santee in California has become the ninth city in USA to declare October 25 as “Rajan Zed Day” after religious statesman Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism and lives in Reno.

Cities of Hartford (Connecticut), Taylorsville (Utah), Madera (California), Sparks (Nevada), Chowchilla (California), Sanger (California), Exeter (California) and Tulare (California) have already declared October 25 as “Rajan Zed Day”. City of Reno has also proclaimed a day in Zed’s recognition twice in the past.

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, leaders of various religions and denominations blessed the new building of a Jewish synagogue in Reno on October 10 evening.

Religious leaders of Roman Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Baha’i, United Methodist, Presbyterian, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Unification Church traditions participated in the dedication ceremony of this new building of Temple Beth Or (House of Light), a Jewish congregation launched in 2009, and read their respective prayers.

Multi-faith clergy gathering at Lake Tahoe to celebrate International Day of Peace

In a remarkable interfaith gesture, area leaders of various religions and denominations are gathering at Lake Tahoe to celebrate International Day of Peace, also known as "Peace Day" on Sept. 21.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, will open the “Interfaith Peace Service” with invocation from oldest scripture of the world still in common use Rig-Veda; besides Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita, both ancient Hindu scriptures; in Sanskrit followed by English translation.

El Dorado County Board of Supervisors to open with Hindu prayers

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors will begin its July 17 meeting with a Hindu invocation with verse from the world's oldest existing scripture, the first time since its 1850 incorporation. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed will deliver the opening prayer from ancient Sanskrit scriptures before the leaders. After Sanskrit delivery, he then will read the English translation of the prayer. Sanskrit is considered a sacred language in Hinduism and root language of Indo-European languages.
