New Registrar of Voters and head for Health and Human Services appointed

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors today approved the appointment of Bill
O’Neill as Registrar of Voters, effective January 9, 2019.
O’Neill was most recently vice president of election cybersecurity and consulting for Runbeck Elections Services, Inc., a private sector elections technology, products and services company. While there, he built a collection of new election-focused software products which improved, among other things, the duplicate ballot
Letter: Wendy David offers 100% committment to South Lake Tahoe community

Our community has less than one week before November 6th, election day, arrives. There are many important issues on the ballot. My husband and I just mailed ours in on Monday and I was reminded again of how fortunate we are to live in a nation where the voters decide on such topics as daylight savings time, on new laws preventing cruelty to farm animals, allowing rent controls to stop spiraling costs that are eliminating housing options, and many other state and local topics.
Fight continues to bring KCRA back to South Lake Tahoe Charter lineup

South Lake Tahoe Charter Communications customers have been unable to watch Sacramento NBC affiliate KCRA since June 8, 2018, but area residents along with City and County government are continuing the fight to get them back on the local line-up.
Charter pulled the station because they already carry a local NBC channel, KRNV out of Reno and are not required to carry two. They are only required to carry stations based on a region's Designated Market Area (DMA). South Lake Tahoe is in the Reno DMA, not the Sacramento.
El Dorado County joins others in state to temporarily ban sales of cannabis

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors have voted for a temporary ban of commercial licenses for both medical and recreational cannabis in El Dorado County with the exception of medical cannabis dispensaries allowed to operate under ordinance 4999.
At the same time, they voted to create a new ad hoc Cannabis Advisory Committee to study and create ballot measures for different cannabis commercial uses tied to
taxation for a local election.
Supervisor Sue Novasel, who represents the South Shore will join Supervisor Ranalli on the new committee.
Letter: Supporting Nick Exline For South Tahoe Public Utility District Board (STPUD)

I am writing this letter in support of Nick Exline's candidacy for the STPUD Board. I have known Nick for several years now and agree with him that renewable energy is our future! He is passionate about, not only how climate change is affecting us, but also what we can do to help solve some of these concerns.

Voting is the opportunity for government to be brought into alignment with the wishes of its citizens. Voting is that precious American right to elect candidates to public office who will govern and shape the future of the community.
