Filming on the South Shore for new movie: Could it be Top Gun 2: Maverick?

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - At the recent Tahoe Chamber Blue Ribbon Awards there was a slide in the presentation about the South Shore being a location in the filming of the sequel to Tom Cruise's epic Top Gun movie.
But since that day nobody can be found that can officially confirm this.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County and the South Shore are a big part of the Hollywood scene with movies, television shows and commercials filmed often in the area. It takes a lot of partners to make location shoots successful and to recognize those that go above and beyond to make filming successful the California On Location Awards (COLA) are given out.
The COLA nominations were announced this week by the Film Liaisons in California Statewide (FLICS) and one will find nominees from the county and South Lake Tahoe.

Just as over 100,000 people desend upon Edgewood Tahoe for the 29th annual American Century Championship, the one-year-old lodge was ranked #1 in the Top 15 Continental U.S. Resort Hotels and the Top 10 West Resort Hotels categories in the 2018 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.
This award goes to top travel destinations and companies around the globe as rated by its readers.

Have you missed your dose of doughnuts and frozen yogurt? No longer do you have to wait as Rainbow Sprinkles is reopening at the Y in South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday, January 16 at 6:00 a.m.
After their first year in business the owners closed for a couple of weeks to make some changes and are now excited to see the customers they've missed.
"We love our customers and can't wait to see them again!" said co-owner Salli Ross-Filgo. "We wanted to say how grateful we are to this community for their support. We have had the honor of serving so many wonderful people."

The Tahoe Women's Community Fund (TWCF) would like to thank all the community members who came out last Wednesday for the Modern Family Premiere in support of local families! With a fun filled evening of raffle prizes, popcorn, and good company, 150 locals raised almost $6,000 for local families. These funds will go into the 2018 grant cycle of the TWCF and will be open for any eligible non-profit to apply for.

All wrong -- I’m referring to ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit TV comedy series Modern Family and the filming of the show’s season premiere here at South Shore.

The cast of Modern Family, the hit ABC sitcom, recently spent several days around South Lake Tahoe filming their Season 9 opener which will be aired on Wednesday, September 27. The episode takes place on a houseboat in Lake Tahoe and they've incorporated eclipse mania into the storyline.

If you were hanging around Camp Richardson Thursday you may have caught some extra activity on the pier as the comedy series "Modern Family" was being filmed. Reports say the popular show's annual vacation episode is taking place in South Lake Tahoe.
Cast and crew have been seen a local spots enjoying dinner, including Edgewood Tahoe and star Sofia Vergara and the show's children actors, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez and Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, have all posted on Twitter and Instagram about their Lake Tahoe adventures.
Tahoe Area REALTOR® And His Team Raise Over $2,700 For Local Community Causes

This spring, local REALTOR® Gregory Cremeans has been actively raising funds for the Reno/Sparks Relay for Life and the Tahoe Pride Equality Scholarship program, which he founded.
In the past month, Gregory hosted a scholarship fundraiser and client appreciation party at TOAST, a locally owned restaurant in Zephyr Cove, NV. This event raised over $700 benefiting Lake Tahoe Community College students.
