Lake Tahoe Community College honors faculty members

South Lake Tahoe, Calif. - Four members of the faculty at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) are being honored for their outstanding work in the classroom and their dedication to students.

LTCC business instructor Treva Thomas was chosen by her fellow faculty members as the Distinguished Faculty Award winner for 2017, math and physics instructor Bruce Armbrust was tapped by LTCC’s students as their choice for Teacher of the Year, and adjunct instructor/Work Experience and Internship Coordinator Jenna Palacio was selected by faculty members as Adjunct Instructor of the Year.

Western Nevada College expands online offerings

Western Nevada College (WNC) in Carson City has now made it easier for busy adults to carve out time in their lives to pursue a higher education. They have added a number of classes, degrees and certificates of achievement that students can complete online.

The addition of online offerings enables individuals seeking to advance their education the ability to do so while maintaining their personal commitments to work and/or family.

LTCC Tapped to Join CA Community Colleges Online Education Initiative

Lake Tahoe Community College has been chosen by the California Community Colleges’ Online Education Initiative (OEI) as one of eight colleges that will participate in the OEI’s full pilot launch, slated to take place from Fall 2014 through Spring 2016. LTCC was selected based on a number of criteria, including its accreditation standing, its well-established online degree programs, and its well-established professional development program to assist faculty with online education-oriented services and course design.
