South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge hosts 12th annual Kid's Fishing Derby

September 22, 2013 - 7:00am The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge 12TH Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby is being held this Sunday, September 22, at Tahoe Paradise’s Lake Baron. The Derby is FREE to all children under the age of 16. The lake is being stocked with thousands of trout just for this event.
Don't worry if you don't have fishing equipment: fishing poles, tackle, power bait, and worms are also provided free of charge, or bring your own if you want.

Barton Foundation would like to thank the many volunteers and sponsors that helped to make the 7th annual Camp Sunrise, held in June, once-again a huge success. Camp Sunrise is a free bereavement camp offered to children ages 7 through 14 who have experienced the death of a family member. The three-day camp provides grief education and support in a fun, safe and supportive environment.
South Lake Tahoe Turkey Trot Race Results
Submitted by Editor on Tue, 11/20/2012 - 5:41pmThe City of South Lake Tahoe held the 2012 Turkey Trot Fun Run last Saturday, November 17th at the Parks and Recreation facility. The Fun Run was a free event for children ages 3-13 and every participant was a winner of either a turkey, pumpkin pie or swim pass. Thank you to the many local volunteers who pitched in to make this event a success, including Raley’s for their generous donation of all the turkeys and pies ad well as the Optimist Club for their continued support of this annual event.

The Fun Run is a free event for children ages 3-13 and every participant will win a prize. We would also like to thank the many local volunteers, including Raley’s and Optimist Club for their support of this annual local event.
Raley’s has generously donated all of the turkeys and pies as the awarded prizes to Turkey Trot Fun Run winners.
Turkey Trot 2012 at the Community Recreation Center

The event is hosted by the Tahoe Mountain Milers, South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club and the South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department. Sign up at 10am.
Races held snow, rain or shine! Race distances range from 25 yards for the kids to 2.8 miles for the adults. Youth races begin at 11am and adult race begins at noon. Winners in each division win a turkey. Second and third places receive pumpkin pies.
