Sierra ski resorts receive 3" to 10" of snow

Winter arrived in Lake Tahoe today, dropping a few inches of snow in the Sierra Nevada. Though not as strong of a storm as predicted, ski resorts were still happy to report a few inches. Not all resorts have their storm measurement totals activated yet, but here are the reported resort totals:

Heavenly Valley - 3"
Squaw Valley - 6"
Sierra at Tahoe - 7"
Alpine Meadows - 10"

Many Sierra resorts are planning on opening November 21.

The forecast for the next two weeks does not show any sign of wet weather until the 16th and then another storm due over the weekend of November 21/22.
