Prescription Drugs are potentially dangerous when they fall into the wrong hands. The abuse of certain prescription drugs— opioids, central nervous system (CNS) depressants, and stimulants—can lead to a variety of adverse health effects, including addiction.
To get unwanted, unused and expired prescription drugs off the street, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department will be holding a Drug Tahoe Back Day in the county on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at several locations.
South Lake Tahoe's drug disposal bin deemed successful
Submitted by paula on Mon, 09/08/2014 - 4:59pmIt may be a simple metal box attached to the wall of the South Lake Tahoe Police station, but what it does can change, or even save, lives.
The South Tahoe Drug Free Coalition bought the box and had it installed in July of this year. Since then it has been emptied three times according to Josh Adler of the SLTPD.
"It has been very successful," said Melody Easton, Coalition Coordinator.
