60th anniversary of Squaw Valley Olympics to be celebrated at Sierra State Parks event

It has been 60 years since the 1960 Winter Olympics were held in Squaw Valley and Sugar Pine Point State Park at Lake Tahoe. To celebrate this anniversary, the Sierra State Parks Foundation is hosting a presentation on the event with author David Antonucci on February 15, 2020.

Birthday celebration in South Lake Tahoe for 99-year-old Martin Hollay

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - From his birthplace in Hungary in 1920 to the slopes of Heavenly Mountain Resort, Martin Hollay has been both an inspiration and a legend. On Friday, November 1, Hollay turns 99 and there will be a party in his honor in South Lake Tahoe.

1960 Squaw Valley Olympian Returns to Granlibakken as Outdoor Recreation Consultant

Olympic greatness returns to Lake Tahoe this winter at Granlibakken Conference Center & Lodge with 1960 Olympic medal winner Joe Pete Wilson. Wilson will consultant for the resort's ski and sled operation and help celebrate Olympic Heritage week, Jan. 11-19.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport to undergo $40 million in renovations

Beginning today the Reno-Tahoe International Airport will be undergoing $40 million in renovations, including a Lake Tahoe-themed ticket lobby. The Gateway Project, which will bring about 275 jobs now through April 2013, features an upgrade to the baggage claim area, creating a first floor single security checkpoint, plus new retail and places to eat.
