Heavenly tuning up its ski school, upgrades trails

While it’s fall at lake level, the top of Heavenly Mountain Resort is covered with white stuff. Snowmaking usually begins Nov. 1, but with the overnight temps well below freezing last week, the guns were fired up Tuesday night.

South Lake Tahoe and Meyers Climbing Festival

The first Lake Tahoe and Meyers Climbing Festival and Bouldering Competition will be on Saturday, Sept. 17. This first-time event is held in and around the town of Meyers, four miles outside South Lake Tahoe. Get out and climb, meet other members of the climbing community, and celebrate the outdoor adventure lifestyle. Beer garden from Divided Sky and local breweries. Live music from Safe Haven Chiropractic and Food from Tahoe Bouldering.com. This event is free to attend and climb.
