Burn pile catches fire on Upper Kingsbury
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 10/21/2011 - 11:52amFire crews have responded this morning to upper Kingsbury Grade where a small fire broke out near the Tahoe Rim Trail across from Andrea Court.
The fire apparently started from a smoldering burn pile. It spread to about 10 feet by 10 feet in size and was reported at around 11:35. Multiple fire units from Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District responded and have knocked it down.

Small brush fire snuffed at Upper Kingsbury

No structures were threatened. The fire, reported at around 11:45 a.m. was controlled quickly by the first responding unit from Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, said Fire Chief Ben Sharit.
Gas leak at lower Kingsbury Grade prompts 'small area' evacuation
Submitted by Editor on Fri, 09/23/2011 - 9:21amA natural gas leak, reported at around 8:50 this morning, has prompted the evacuation of a small area around the 200 block of S.R. 207 Kingsbury Grade, according to Tahoe Douglas Fire Chief Ben Sharit. The initial report came in from the contracting firm Peak Construction. It was reported as a 2-inch gas line leak. The leak was secured quickly by crews and Southwest Gas has arrived, Sharit said. The evacuation area are buildings at 290 Kingsbury Grade near the 7-Eleven.
