Keep the Independence Day party rolling! After Tahoe’s celebrated July Fourth festivities, our beaches are covered with trash, which can hurt wildlife and lake clarity. Each year, Tahoe residents and visitors turn out for our largest cleanup of the year to remove litter from Lake Tahoe's shores. You can help Keep Tahoe Blue by volunteering at a beach cleanup site!

Bike Path Cleanup

Celebrate the Tahoe Bike Challenge with this fun, physically distanced community cleanup event to prepare our bike paths for the summer. We will ride our bikes and walk on the paths as we clean. Volunteers that ride their bike or walk to the cleanup will receive a Tahoe Bike Challenge prize!

Every year during the first week of November, Corporate Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. encourages their Ameriprise office team members across the country to participate in an activity to support their ‘National Day of Service’ giving campaign. For the last five years, the Tahoe South Shore’s Ameriprise office has elected to sponsor a Bread & Broth Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) and this year they hosted the Monday Meal on November 4 to participate in the annual Corporate campaign.
Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Nevada Beach

The public is invited to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD) with the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) and our partners at Nevada Beach Pavilion on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. The LTBMU and Tahoe Recreation will host this free community event, which provides an opportunity for the public to connect and engage with volunteers and organizations to learn how to best enjoy and protect our public lands.
Volunteer at state park and get free camping

Make new friends, learn new skills, and have fun volunteering with California State Park's Park Champions this spring at parks up and down California.
There will a volunteer event at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park in Amador County on Thursday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Help them remove invasive plants and give native plants an opportunity to thrive.
Free tent camping is available for registered volunteers Wednesday night and a guided walk offered Thursday afternoon! Teens ages 14 and up are welcome with a legal guardian.
20th annual Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day

September 23, 2017 - 8:00am Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to a fun, hands-on restoration day on September 23 at 8:00 a.m. Participants in the Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day will help restore the Angora Burn area by improving trails and thinning brush to protect young trees. Together, the watershed habitats that surround Lake Tahoe can be protected.
At 12:30, all volunteers are invited to South Tahoe Brewing Co. for a celebration of 20 years of volunteer restoration with the League to Save Lake Tahoe. They will provide lunch, refreshments and a prize.

Community invited to help the river during the annual 'Restoration Day'

June 4, 2016 - 9:15am Help the League to Save Lake Tahoe assess the success of last year’s Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day. They will survey the plants that volunteers planted last September, water any plants that need a little care, stabilize streambanks and survey for aquatic invasive plants. By pitching in, the community can make a direct impact in restoring the habitat of the Upper Truckee River.
Ride your bike as part of the Tahoe Bike Challenge and receive a special prize. Refreshments will be provided. Lunch vouchers will be given to all volunteers.
When: Saturday, June 4 from 9:15 am to noon

June 11, 2016 (All day) Join us as we celebrate the Tahoe Bike Challenge with a community bike path cleanup event!
Volunteers can meet at one of four locations throughout South Tahoe to pick up litter from the areas around our bike paths. Then we’ll get together at the League to Save Lake Tahoe office located at 2608 Lake Tahoe Boulevard for a free lunch, raffle and celebration after 12:00 p.m. All ages are welcome and all supplies will be provided.
We encourage volunteers to ride their bike, which also makes you eligible to enter a free raffle for a chance to win a prize.

18th annual Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day on September 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This year they will be taking care of the Upper Truckee River. All volunteers need to meet at the corner of Barbara Ave. and Lodi Ave in South Lake Tahoe for a shuttle ride to restoration site.
Bring your reusable water bottle, wear clothes that are comfortable that you can get dirty in, and bring your friends.

17th Annual Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day

September 27, 2014 - 9:00am Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day is the largest volunteer restoration event in the Lake Tahoe basin. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are invited to restore trails, stabilize stream banks and plant native plants. Last year 82 volunteers from various organizations participated to help restore Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers, CA.
This year, volunteers are invited to help restore the watershed habitats that lead to Lake Tahoe.
The stewardship project starts at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers at 8 a.m.

Lake Tahoe East Shore Cleanup on Saturday

Volunteers will be helping to clean-up these secluded and beautiful Lake Tahoe beaches. Keeping Tahoe clean and blue is a collaborative effort where local residents and visitors alike can make a difference.
Volunteers invited to tackle Lake Tahoe invasive species

Lake Tahoe Basin residents and visitors are invited to help remove one of Tahoe’s most prolific aquatic invasive weeds, Eurasian watermilfoil, during a community volunteer event at Baldwin Beach on Sunday, July 15.
The project is a partnership of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and the U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Preventing the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species is a top priority for all three agencies.
Keep Tahoe Blue Volunteer Weed Pull

June 28, 2012 (All day) Join the League to Save Lake Tahoe and the U.S. Forest Service for a weed pull on the evening of June 28th in Rabe Meadows near Stateline, Nevada. Volunteers will be helping to remove invasive weeds that are threatening Tahoe’s native plant species and wildlife habitat. Learn about invasive weeds and how to properly remove them.
