Nominations announced for the 13th annual Blue Ribbon Awards

The Tahoe Chamber collected 190 nominations from the community for the 13th annual Blue Ribbon Award to celebrate the businesses, non-profits and individuals that make the South Shore of Lake Tahoe so unique. Local businesses have been a resilient backbone of the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and honoring their contributions, achievements and milestones is more important than ever before.
South Lake Tahoe Babe Ruth thanks the community for their support

The South Lake Tahoe Babe Ruth Organization would like to thank the following community members and businesses who so graciously helped our THREE Nevada State Championship Teams (13-year olds, 14-15 year olds, and 16-18 year olds) compete at the Regional Tournament for the Pacific Southwest with their donations! Over 40 local youth benefited from this generosity by getting to play at the “next” level (one step away from the World Series)! The players had an amazing experience thanks to the community support in our little town here on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. THANK YOU ALL!
Sierra-at-Tahoe welcome home party for local Olympians postponed

12:35 p.m. 3.1.18 UPDATE: Sierra-at-Tahoe has decided to postpone this event until a later date, either at the end of March or early April due to the Olympians hectic schedules around the country. That, coupled with the current blizzard, executives thought another date would give the community a much better chance of celebrating their champions.

Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman, Hannah Teter and Kyle Smaine will all be at Sierra-at-Tahoe on Saturday, March 3 when the resort throws an Olympic Homecoming and Athlete Celebration in their honor.

The Tahoe Chamber announced the nominations Tuesday for the 2015 Blue Ribbon Awards. There were 150 nominations received from the community for their annual awards program that recognizes exceptional South Shore businesses for excellence in service, entrepreneurship and experience among other areas.
RIbbon Cutting at Welcome Home Shoppe, Gifts & Decor

The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting at the new South Lake Tahoe business, Welcome Home Shoppe Gifts & Decor on June 4 at 4 p.m.
The shop features unique gifts and home decor.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will feature wine and appetizers. Welcome Home will pay the sales tax on any items purchased at the time.
The new boutique is located in the log cabin at 2777 Lake Tahoe Blvd (in front of Tahoe Keys Cafe and adjacent to the car wash).
Kudos: Boy's & Girl's Club of Lake Tahoe Spirit of Spring

The Annual Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe Spirit of Spring Fundraiser was held on Tuesday, May 13 at Edgewood Tahoe from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
All proceeds from this evening of food and wine will benefit the local kids -- helping them be great!
Guests were treated to name vintages, cordials and beer for the evening courtesy of Southern Wine and Spirits and appetizers buffet courtesy of Edgewood Tahoe.
Sierra at Tahoe's Olympic Golden Celebration Video

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort hosted a "Golden Celebration" on March 15, 2014 to welcome home Winter Olympians, Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman, and Hannah Teter. The day started with a procession through South Lake Tahoe where people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the gold medalists. The celebration at Sierra Resort consisted of a grand ceremony, proclamations from dignitaries, including California Senator Gaines, and live music. The girls also signed autographs and danced the night away. Thanks to the entire community for coming out to celebrate. Way to go Team Sierra!
"The Three Amigas" Return Home to South Lake Tahoe

Crystal blue skies and a bright yellow sun shone down on the golden girls of Lake Tahoe Saturday as the communities of Meyers and South Lake Tahoe turned out in force for a welcome home parade.
South Lake Tahoe Winter Olympians' Welcome Home Parade Saturday

The Welcome Home celebration for the South Lake Tahoe Olympians will be held on Saturday, March 15. A procession will leave South Tahoe High at 1 p.m. and proceed to the Y, down Highway 50, through Meyers and to Sierra at Tahoe.
