SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Noah Ortega-Pourol Wiley, 15, has been identified by family as the young man who died in a rock climbing accident at Eagle Falls on April 9, 2026.

Noah was a sophomore at South Tahoe High School.

Friends of the South Lake Tahoe teen’s family have set up a fundraiser to help them through this difficult time.

“To know Noah was to feel true happiness; his infectious smile and ability to keep us laughing will be deeply missed by all. Noah was your typical boy, full of energy and chasing adventure. You’d often find him playing sports, cheering on his beloved Raiders, and spending time with his friends and family,” said the story on GoFundMe.

This sudden loss has left his family and friends in deep shock and overwhelming grief, and friends started the GoFundMe to give Noah’s family the time and space to grieve and plan a funeral without financial stress.
