LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – A 20-year-old man from Carson City has been identified as the person who died in a two-car collision on April 19, 2026. The collision occurred at approximately 4:48 a.m. on US50 near mile marker 11 in Douglas County, Nevada, between SR28 and Glenbrook Road.

The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) responded to the crash, and they have released their preliminary investigation. A 2018 Toyota Rav4 was traveling eastbound on US50, and a 2024 Toyota Camry was traveling westbound on US50 in the number one travel lane. The front left of the Rav4 struck the front left of the Camry. The Rav4 came to rest on the guardrail and the number one travel lane of westbound US50. The Camry came to rest in the number two travel lane of eastbound US50.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, Angel Vega, a 20-year-old male from Carson City, Nevada, was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

Three others were transported to the hospital with injuries – the driver and passenger of the Rav4 and the passenger in the Camry.

The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is investigating this crash and no other details have been released at this time.
