A pedestrian was hit by a car near Pioneer Trail and Lake Tahoe Boulevard at around 11 p.m. Sunday night, tying up traffic at the intersection. Early reports were that the man had no visible injuries according to South Lake Tahoe EMTs on the scene. The man, said to be elderly, was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital. Traffic was diverted to Echo Road.
Sunday night’s accident happened in the same area as a fatal accident on August 14 in which a 49-year-old man was struck by a van and died while attempting to cross the street outside the crosswalk area.
