Douglas County Sheriff's Office to host Lake Tahoe emergency plan meeting

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) will be hosting a special presentation on Monday, April 29 at 5:30 p.m. regarding important evacuation information for Lake Tahoe residents. The event will be held at the Kahle Community Center's Tallac Room in Stateline. This presentation will also feature representatives from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District (Tahoe Douglas) and Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP).

Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil's team to hold office hours at LTCC

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil's team will be at Lake Tahoe Community College on Tuesday, April 30 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. The mobile office hours allow the public an opportunity to share concerns, issues, and advocacy.

This will also be a chance to receive updates on key issues Alvarado-Gil is tackling at the Capitol in Sacramento.

District Representative Heidi Mayerhofer will be at the college in the Student Commons.

Student Job Fair at Lake Tahoe Community College

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Are you looking to hire for the summer or do you have longer-term employment opportunities you'd like to promote? Lake Tahoe Community College will be hosting a job fair for students on Thursday, May 2 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Student Center.

Students will be able to attend resume writing, interview skills, and career exploration workshops, get a resume review, and participate in mock interviews during the fair. Lunch will be provided during the networking luncheon in the Creekside Room from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Rotary holds entrepreneurial keynote program at Tahoe Blue Event Center

STATELINE, Nev. - The two Rotary Clubs on the South Shore are jointly inviting the public to hear from local spirits entrepreneur, Matt Levitt, this Thursday evening at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. The impact of Mr. Levitt’s popular vodka brand and their sponsorship of the community’s new event location carries a story that the public should hear, both clubs shared.

The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club organized this event after a successful dual-club event at the Tahoe Blue Event Center in early March.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Tahoe Learning Haven (TLH) is hosting its second Student Summer Job Fair on Wednesday, May 8 from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, 1100 Lyons Ave, South Lake Tahoe. It will be a free one-stop shopping event in which you can leave with a summer job!

Over 25 local businesses will be there, all looking for summer employees. TLH will help students ages 15-18 create a simple resume, complete applications, interview and complete your work permit. In 2.5 hours, students can leave with their perfect summer job.

24th Annual Snapshot Day

Snapshot Day is an annual water quality monitoring event held each May. Groups of volunteers fan out across the Truckee River Watershed to take samples from creeks, streams, and lakes—including Lake Tahoe—to capture a snapshot of Tahoe’s water quality at a moment in time.

Tahoe Arts Project to hold annual Bert’s Spaghetti Night

The Tahoe Arts Project (TAP) is holding its annual Bert’s Spaghetti Night on May 15, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Join TAP for dinner and support performing arts education in the community.

The cost is $15 per person and includes Spaghetti, Caesar salad, garlic bread, soda, and coffee. There will also be a bake sale and wine available for a donation.

Nominations opening for Tahoe Chamber's 16th annual Blue Ribbon Awards

In partnership with ADVANCE and the South Tahoe Alliance of Resorts, the Tahoe Chamber recognizes business excellence in the South Shore area with the awards.
