South Lake Tahoe resident seeks stories of inspirational women for cross-country interview project

Women Who Dare, a cross-country interview project, is inviting recommendations of inspirational women for inclusion in a forthcoming podcast. Any woman is eligible for recommendation, as long as she inspires others. Suggestions for the Women Who Dare project will be accepted until March 31.

Sparked by the founding story of Clif Bar, the Women Who Dare project was created by South Lake Tahoe resident Kerry Gross as a way to tell the stories of courageous women. As an avid adventurer surrounded by mostly male counterparts, Kerry often wondered, "Where are all the other women?" In response to this question, and with the knowledge that stories of women's strength, intelligence, and perseverance frequently go untold, Kerry developed the Women Who Dare project.

"Women across the country are inspiring others in so many ways," Kerry says. "I'm hoping that people will take a minute to tell me about the women who inspire them, so I can include them in the Women Who Dare project. I want to explore a wide range of inspirational stories to show that strength and courage are within reach for every woman."

Once the recommendation period has ended, Kerry will plan a route across to reaching as many Women Who Dare as possible. Throughout the summer, Kerry will follow this route on her bicycle, interviewing inspirational women and sharing updates on her blog and Instagram. Upon her return to Maine, Kerry will compile and release the interviews as a podcast called Women Who Dare.
