Edgewood Tahoe Lodge project Open House set for Thursday

Edgewood Companies is inviting community members to learn more about the proposed Edgewood Tahoe Lodge Project at an Open House event on March 29 from 5:30pm to 7pm at the Edgewood Tahoe Clubhouse.

“We welcome community members to get involved by coming to our open house,” stated Patrick Rhamey, Vice President of Real Estate for Edgewood Companies. “Our team will be on hand to answer questions about the approval process plus share information about our vision, innovative design, amenities and golf course improvements.”

The Edgewood Tahoe Lodge Project includes a LEED-designed hotel with significant environmental improvements located adjacent to the current Edgewood Clubhouse on the 18-hole golf course. It will include 194 hotel rooms, a bistro-style restaurant, spa, links to nearby bike and walking trails and a public beach.

As part of the approval process required by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), the Edgewood Tahoe Lodge Project is currently undergoing an extensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) review process by an outside environmental consulting firm. The draft results of this study will be available for the public to review in late March (for 60 days). The TRPA Advisory Planning Commission as well as the Governing Board will review the findings of the EIS study at future meetings and take public comment with a final decision expected in September.  Once approved, construction of the Lodge may begin as early as 2013.

“The draft EIS is hundreds of pages long and this can be daunting so we’re hosting the open house to help make the process more user-friendly,” said Rhamey. “It's a great opportunity to get your questions answered about the project.”
