Event Date:
December 4, 2015 - 6:00pm On Saturday, June 4, 2016, the Sierra State Parks Foundation is proud to host the second annual fundraising gala “A Night at the Museum: Celebrating the Pioneer Experience”. This “country elegant” evening will kick off the fundraising efforts to restore the 98 year-old Donner Pioneer Monument. Starting at 6:00 p.m., guests will enjoy a night filled with live music, costumed period actors, unique food, and our signature “Not-So-Silent Auction”.
Tickets are $150 each and are on sale now. Seating is very limited and reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased on our website, SierraStateParks.org, or by calling our office at (530)583-9911.
The fun starts as the Truckee Regulators meet guests entering the Visitor Center. The party takes over the museum with live music by Richard Blain, an “old time” selfie photo booth will be set up, and costumed docents will be on hand to share stories of our Truckee pioneer past. Guests will enjoy “Chinese Themed” hors d’voeuvres and fine wines while starting the bidding at our famous and fun, “Not-So-Silent Auction”.
At 7pm, Mountain Magic Catering will be serving our guests a one-of-a kind dinner on this memorable night. Starting things off, guests will enjoy an organic salad including spring cherries, maple glazed almonds, sunburst cherry tomatoes, and a 10yr balsamic vinaigrette, followed by pioneer hand cut “Choice Sierra Valley Grass Fed Angus Beef” barbecued tri-tip steaks paired with potato gratin dauphinoise and farmers market grilled vegetables. Our vegetarian guests will be delighted to enjoy an organic quinoa pilaf layered with fire roasted sweet peppers, basil, cashews, and parmesan pesto, and balsamic roasted cherry tomatoes. Wrapping up our elegant “Chuck Wagon” dinner will be a Belgian bittersweet chocolate and Grand Marnier orange mousse with shaved white chocolate and raspberries.
Shortly following dinner, our emcee for the night, Ed Miller will take the stage for the “Not-So-Silent” Auction. Guests will pick up where the bids left off earlier in the evening with a fun-filled, live action auction with over 8 unique packaged items.
Join us for this memorable night at the Donner Memorial Visitor Center, where proceeds from the 2nd annual fundraising gala will help “kick start” the fundraising efforts to restore the deteriorating Donner Pioneer Monument. The Sierra State Parks Foundation will be partnering with the Native Sons of the Golden West in the monument restoration efforts.
