Review: Dinner theater in South Lake Tahoe a real treat

For a second year, the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe has brought live theater to the Lake Tahoe Golf Course. This year, a production of Divorce Southern Style hits the stage created inside the clubhouse.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I received my tickets, but I was thoroughly impressed and the night was very enjoyable with a great three-course dinner and lots of laughs.

The golf course's brand new bar was unveiled on opening night of "Divorce," so it was the centerpiece before the food and entertainment. Beautifully done with copper and wood throughout.

Opinion: Hot chocolate run turns into mission to help homeless in South Lake Tahoe

She wasn't crying, but she wasn't exactly not crying, either. We were about to get an early season storm, a typical hot-to-cold pattern, and I had been looking out the window waiting on rain to become snow. My wife had gone to the grocery store, and I wanted to know what had upset the hot chocolate run. An elderly homeless couple had been rummaging through a dumpster in the parking lot. They were literally freezing, threadbare clothes wet and icing over.

What's your favorite ice cream flavor?

Unknown to many, including those in the ice cream business, today is National Ice Cream Day! Celebrated on the third Sunday in July, the holiday was declared by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 as a way to promote the economic well-being of the U.S. dairy industry.

While most don't need a reason to enjoy ice cream, Reagan's move called for the people of the United States to use ceremonies and activities to pay tribute to ice cream.

Why argue with this proclamation? It sounds reasonable!
