South Tahoe High students organize fundraiser to pay food tab for health care workers

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - South Tahoe High students have started a GoFundMe account to raise funds to pay the food tab at Sprouts Cafe in South Lake Tahoe.

The "pay-it-forward” fundraising efforts began with sophomores Kaya Roberts, Claire Gurner, Sophia Aronoff, and Soleil Weed. They were working on a history project about "the change we want to see in the world" and decided to do research on mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We decided to set up a go-fund-me in order to raise money to make a food tab at Sprouts Cafe for health care workers," said Roberts. "We want to pay-it-forward as a way to say thank you for all of their hard work during this global pandemic."

They are collecting donations HERE for giving back to local heath care workers.
